Retired Hong Kong policeman sentenced to 7 days in jail for fatal road rage incident
Former senior constable Kwong Tak-wing found guilty of common assault for intentionally pushing merchant.
A retired police officer in Hong Kong has been jailed for seven days for pushing a merchant in a road rage assault which ended with the latter’s death.
Former senior constable Kwong Tak-wing, 58, was on Thursday cleared of the more serious offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm owing to a lack of evidence that he had intended to inflict substantial injuries on Berry Chan Kwok-leung.
But Tuen Mun Court found him guilty of common assault after determining he had intentionally pushed Chan in the chest with hostile intent during the brawl on November 28, 2021.
