Restaurant gives out free food to confinees at quarantine camps
A restaurant gave out free pizzas and doughnuts to residents at the quarantine camps, after poor quality meals there caught public attention.
Earlier at least 16 confinees at the Penny’s Bay Quarantine Center developed symptoms of food poisoning, including diarrhea. For a short while confinees were only offered noodle cups.
The supplier has since been changed.
Today a restaurant in Happy Valley, Dough Bros. Hong Kong gave out free pizzas and doughnuts to confinees at the quarantine camps.
The restaurant uploaded photos on social media, saying that they were delivering the food to confinees staying at the quarantine camps in Penny Bay and Lei Yue Mun, as well as Dorsett Kwun Tong Hong Kong, one of the government-designated quarantine hotels.
Photos saw staffers were carrying the food to the centers in a number of thermal bags.
The food came with a note, which told confinees to stay strong and people were thinking of them, even though they were in the quarantine camps.
