Renovation worker arrested for dropping iron bar from height, injuring person below
Police arrested a renovation worker in Mong Kok Wednesday morning for dropping an iron rod from height that injured the arm of a supermarket worker below.
A 60-centimeter-long iron rod fell from an apartment in Wai Ming Commercial Building located on Nathan Road at 10.17 am, hitting a supermarket staffer working downstairs in the arm.
The 44-year-old injured staffer, surnamed Lau, reported to the police and was taken to the Kwong Wah Hospital by the paramedics.
The police headed up to the concerned apartment and discovered that a 58-year-old worker surnamed Wong was replacing the windows when he accidentally dropped the iron rod.
Police arrested Wong for dropping the object and causing injury to another person.
