Reality show which tests couples' limits draws 40 complaints
ViuTV's reality show The Couples' Gambit has attracted 40 complaints saying it is vulgar and encourages extramarital affairs.
The show invited four married couples to play games for a prize.
One episode features “part time girlfriends” playing games with the husbands and touching them on a yacht. Then they were secretly replaced by the husbands' wives who continued the sexy interactions.
Among the couples, Teris and her husband Dennis ate two ends of the same candy and they ended up kissing. As the husband did not know the “girlfriends” were in fact their wives, Teris felt he betrayed her. She slapped him and stormed off the yacht, and upload a black and white photo of her with Dennis with the caption RIP.
While the show attracted attention due to its controversial content, it also drew complaints – Communications Authority received 40 complaints on six episodes of the reality show sine it started airing on October 11.
Complainers said the show is vulgar, obscene and encourages affairs. The authority said it will handle the complaints in accordance to the established mechanism.
