RAT requirement in public hospitals and residential care homes to be lifted on Sat
The government announced that the rapid antigen testing (RAT) requirement applicable to public hospitals, care homes for the elderly and disabled will be lifted this Saturday (Mar 25) as the Covid-19 epidemic continues to subside.
Visitors of public hospitals and care homes will not be required to undergo an RAT before their visits, while the clinical staff of public hospitals as well as staff and residents of the care homes will no longer be required to undergo an RAT on a daily basis.
"The lifting of the RAT requirement is in line with the latest epidemic development and risk management principle, on par with the measures for managing other upper respiratory tract illnesses," a spokesman said.
The government reminded that all visitors and staff of public hospitals and residential care homes should continue to wear a mask to reduce the risk of virus transmission.
