According to an announcement by the Jockey Club, the public who have made bookings can be admitted into the public enclosure starting Sunday.
The reopening in over four months saw not much of a crowd in the morning, but many racing fans were excited about returning to the racecourse.
Some of them arrived as of 11 am. One said he had been looking forward to the race for a long while, but failed to make a reservation in the previous two bookings. He made an early booking this time and finally got an admission quota.
Another citizen said the atmosphere was a bit deserted, whereas "safety is the most important".
All entrants will have to make a reservation through Online Booking (bookingrc.hkjc.com) or HKJC Customer eCentre (cc.hkjc.com) beforehand, and abide by public health measures including temperature screenings and wearing of masks.
They shall also meet the requirements of the vaccination pass and there were staffers seen at the entry to help the visitors.
