Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong was hit by strong winds from Typhoon Talim, causing damage to the facility.
An air diffuser in a lift at the Main Block was loosened, and eight false ceiling panels at the ground floor corridor were detached.
The incidents occurred during the T8 signal, which was in force at the time.
The hospital immediately suspended the use of the lift and conducted inspections of other elevators of the same model.
Maintenance work was completed, and the lift was reopened later.
The hospital also reported the incidents to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
The Authority expressed concern and requested the hospital to investigate the cause of the incidents and to take necessary actions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
