Quarantine facilities see 2,000 reports of improper usage and sabotage
Authorities have received some 2,000 reports of improper usage of facilities at the city’s six quarantine facilities that have been in operation for less than a month since their commission in March.
According to official figures, around 600 cases involved furniture damage, 500 cases were toilet clogs caused by the flushing of wet wipes, as well as some 300 cases that saw toilet seat cover malfunction caused by misuse.
The Security Bureau also noted that some residents also sabotaged the quarantine rooms, leaving shoe marks on mattresses, food residues around the room, or even feces inside cooking utensils.
Police have earlier arrested two individuals for criminal damage after they were accused to have sabotaged their quarantine rooms with feces.
