Protester shot by police in Sai Wan Ho has a case to answer
The District Court on Friday ruled that two protesters, including a 21-year-old one who got shot at by police in Sai Wan Ho during the social unrest, have a case to answer.
The shot student Chow Pak-kwan, 21, and Woo Tsz-kin, 20, were charged with obstructing police officer and attempting to snatch the officer's gun at a junction between Shau Kei Wan Road and Tai On Street in Sai Wan Ho on November 11, 2019. Chau was also charged with attempted escape.
The cop, identified as A in court, earlier testified and said he fired the shot at Chow as he was worried about his personal safety at that time.

A superintendent, identified as B in court, testified in the District Court on Friday. Although he got off the police vehicle alongside A to check on the traffic congestion in the area, he didn't follow A closely as he claimed he had lost a pair of handcuffs.
B didn't inform A when heading back to look for the handcuffs and A proceeded to the disruption scene alone. B continued that when he reached the scene, he found A was surrounded and attacked by two men including Woo. He then heard three loud bangs, after which he helped A and subdued Woo.
B also said he spotted Chau was bleeding that time and believed a live shot had been fired. When reinforcement arrived, Chau suddenly stood up. B added he reminded Chau that he was wounded and ordered him to stay still, but Chau turned around and started running away, who was later subdued onto the ground.
As the prosecution presented all the evidence, district judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching then ruled Chau and Woo have a case to answer.
