Private car collided as entering bus lane, driver trapped
A private car was hit by a bus and overturned on Tuen Mun Road this morning after it crossed into the bus lane, leaving the car driver injured and trapped.
The accident happened at 8:49am, involving a private car initially driving along the fast lane on Tuen Mun Road.
It suddenly crossed two lanes to enter the bus lane when approaching Tsing Lung Tau, leading a double-decker KMB bus that failed to stop and crashed into it.
The private car lost control and hit a pickup truck nearby before overturning. The private car driver, in his fifties, was trapped after the accident and later sent to Yan Chai Hospital with his left hand injured.
Part of the lanes of Tuen Mun Road (Kowloon bound) was once closed, with the reopening gradually resumed around 10:30am as the traffic queue took time to disperse.
