Authorities said over 12 million sim cards have been real-name registered since the registration program was fully implemented on February 24.
It said SIM card users who successfully registered will receive an SMS sent by the telecommunications service providers for confirmation.
Authorities also warned the public that the telecommunications service providers will not call to ask for users’ personal information in completing the registration, nor ask users to disclose information on their bank accounts and credit card details.
Meanwhile, the government called on the public to avoid using SIM cards registered under others' names, or ones that are from unknown sources that claim to have been real-name registered.
