PolyU SPEED Business Students Crowned The Champion in The Quest for Securities & Investment Elites (QSIE) Case Analysis Competition 2022

The Quest for Securities & Investment Elites (QSIE) Case Analysis Competition 2022, with Title Sponsor, Hang Seng Investment Management Limited (HSVM), Competition Sponsor, Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), and Competition Organiser, EL Education Academy, was successfully held at the Grand Assembly Hall, 4/F, North Tower, The Salisbury-YMCA of Hong Kong, Tsimshatsui on Saturday, 26 November 2022. The topic was about fund manager’s investment portfolio of the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (Stock Code 2800), SPDR Gold ETF, ESG, Russia & Ukraine conflict.
In the Opening Ceremony, Mr Wilfred Sit, Director and CIO, HSVM, Guest of Honour delivered a speech and said: “HSVM is delighted to be the title sponsor of the Quest for Securities and Investment Elites Case Analysis Competition this year. As a leader in this industry, we always engage ourselves in investor education and participate in different events to help the investing public raise the level of investment knowledge in both active and passive investments.” Wilfred shared his personal experience in the asset management industry which allows him to learn and gain in depth knowledge across a wide spectrum of industries operating in the Asian region. He encouraged the students to pursue their career in this industry and learn from it. Dr. Kam Pok Man, BBS, PhD, MBA, CPA. Member of the Supervisory Committee of Tracker Fund of Hong Kong said “Financial Services is one of the pillars of Hong Kong’s economy, and the Government has been actively pursuing economic development in order to keep up the competitive advantage of Hong Kong. Next year The Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEx) will amend Main Board Listing Rules to facilitate fund-raising by advanced technology enterprises which have yet to meet the existing profit and trading record requirements. The Government is also keen in developing the local bond market whose measures, such as issuing government bonds and strengthening our tie with the mainland market through the Bond Connect Scheme. The Government is also stepping up the efforts to promote Green & Sustainable Finance (GSF) in Hong Kong. The above are just examples, through the Case Analysis Competition, the students develop interests and knowledge of Securities and Investment, report writing and oral presentation. The Competition not only sharpens the skills but also prepares them for entering the competitive job market in the future.”
