Policewoman caught stealing a HK$5,600 hat released on bail
A policewoman caught stealing a hat worth over HK$5,600 in a Tsim Sha Tsui boutique was on Friday released on bail for HK$6,000 and saw her trial adjourned to late October.
Irene Lau Kit-yee, 49, has been suspended from her police duty. She appeared before acting principal magistrate Peony Wong Nga-yan in Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts on Friday morning.
She was charged with theft for stealing a black hat worth HK$5,670 in boutique TWIST on the UG floor in iSQUARE in Tsim Sha Tsui on May 21, 2022.
Lau needed not to enter a plea this morning. She was released on bail for HK$6,000 as the judge adjourned the trial to October 26, awaiting the defense to seek legal advice and relevant documents.
