Police search NT landfill for slain model’s missing body parts
More than 100 police officers on Tuesday continued their search for the missing torso and arms of murdered and dismembered model Abby Choi Tin-fung at the North East New Territories Landfill at Ta Kwu Ling.
Meanwhile, friends and family members of Choi arrived at the Fu Shan Public Mortuary this morning to identify her body parts.
At the Ta Kwu Ling landfill, officers in full protective suits were seen digging through piles of trash this morning.
Superintendent Alan Chung Nga-lun of the Kowloon West regional crime unit said the force has narrowed down the area of search at the landfill to about the size of a football field which holds thousands of tonnes of waste.
He said the force believed all pieces of evidence, including the missing body parts, clothing related to the case, and the murder weapon were located all together within a certain spot inside the search area.
However, Chung said the search could take more than a day.
The police previously scoured a cemetery and sewage pipes on the weekend with little to show for their efforts.
