Police arrest two men for 'kit-napping' 5-month-old kitten
Police have arrested two Nepalese men suspected of stealing a 5-month-old kitten from a fruit stall.
On Valentine's Day, a fruit stall owner in Yau Ma Tei called the police regarding the disappearance of her kitten on the 4th of this month, suspecting someone might have stolen it.
The force then checked the nearby security cameras to lock on to two suspects, arresting the 29- and 31-year-old Nepalese men at their apartment in Mong Kok.
After a brief check-up at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the kitten was returned to its owner.
The duo arrested are currently detained for further investigation. The force warns pet owners to make sure not to lose sight of their pets and prevent criminals from having a chance to take them.
