Pok Fu Lam kidnap suspect remanded until March 2022
A 42-year-old suspect in the Pok Fu Lam abduction case, where a domestic helper and a baby girl were kidnapped on Wednesday, will be remanded until March 2022 after making his first court appearance on Saturday.
Meat shop manager Ho Lin-chun appeared in Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts on Saturday morning. He was charged with forcefully taking or detention of persons for kidnapping the 39-year-old helper and the 19-month-old girl on Victoria Road in Pok Fu Lam on Wednesday.
Ho need not enter a plea yet. Principal magistrate Bina Chainrai then adjourned the case to March 4, 2022, pending further police investigation, including security camera footage, DNA testing, and contact records on Ho's phone as requested by the prosecution.
The defense counsel applied for bail, but the application was denied by Chainrai, meaning Ho will be remanded in custody.
The prosecution said other suspects are still at large, and the owner of the vehicle, which Ho used as a getaway car after kidnapping the helper and baby, recognized Ho.
