Phone-snatching child gang of five arrested in Tsuen Wan
A gang of five, aged between 12 to 16 years, were arrested yesterday for snatching a 25-year-old woman’s iPhone in Tsuen Wan.
A police spokesman said the incident happened on March 15, where a 13-year-old boy among the five pretend to ask for directions from the woman near Shek Fong House of Shek Wai Kok Estate in Tsuen Wan, snatched her phone while she was unaware and make good his escape.
The rest of the gang were said to have been in the vicinity and keep watch.
The woman filed a report to the police the same day. At around 6pm yesterday, police officers arrested the five teenagers and retrieved the stolen phone from a cell phone shop in Tsuen Fung Centre.
According to the police spokesman, the five teenagers study at the same school in Tsuen Wan, they were said to have split the HK$2,700 among themselves after selling the phone.
