Feng shui master Peter Chan Chun-chuen, who forged the will note of late Nina Wang Kung Yu-sum, the former chairwoman of Chinachem Group, will be released early from prison on July 3, according to sources.
It is understood that Chan will see his 12-year imprisonment sentence reduced by one-third for good behaviors, and he will be released from prison after serving his sentence for eight years.
Chan in July 2013 was sentenced to 12-year imprisonment after he was found guilty of forging and using a false instrument.
After Wang passed away in 2007, Chan announced he held the authentic will note by Wang and disclosed his intimate relationship with Wang. Chan failed to secure the fortune left by Wang as he lost the case in court to Chinachem Charitable Foundation Ltd in 2010. He was soon arrested and sentenced in 2013.
Although being convicted, Chan insisted he was innocent all the time.
While serving his sentence in jail, Chan took courses offered by local universities and the Baptist Church.
It is understood that Chan is planning his comeback by publishing a book after being released, in which he will disclose more on his relationship with Wang.
