Netflix to Implement New Account Sharing Policy in Hong Kong
Netflix will charge an additional HK$28 a month to its subscribers in Hong Kong if their accounts are shared with people outside of their household.
Netflix will send emails to customers in 103 countries and territories about the new account sharing policy, which includes limits on password borrowing and a new ad-supported option.
Netflix has over 232 million paid subscribers worldwide and has had a "manage access and devices" function since November last year to address account sharing.
The company will allow non-subscribers to transfer their profile information to their personal accounts.
