Panfield Eyeing Reclamation in G1 Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup
Panfield, a horse trained by Tony Millard, is set to compete in the G1 Standard Chartered Champions & Chater Cup at Sha Tin on Sunday with the aim of reclaiming his title in the season's final Group 1 race.
The Chilean-bred six-year-old finished fourth in the 2022 G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase and is returning to set weight conditions and a probable rain-free surface under jockey Karis Teetan.
Teetan also rode Panfield in a grass gallop on May 18 and believes the horse is in good shape and ready to perform well in the race.
Money Catcher, trained by Frankie Lor, is also set to compete after a solid campaign with two Group 3 wins and a pair of Group 1 placings.
Derek Leung will ride Money Catcher for the first time this season and is optimistic about the horse's chances, noting that he can lead or sit second and has won races at the distance.
