The overnight lockdowns at a Wong Tai Sin building and four Kwong Fuk Estate blocks in Tai Po on Friday revealed a total of 293 preliminary positive Covid-19 cases.
The lockdowns were lifted on Saturday between 10.45am and 12.30pm.
Cheung Tung House, Tung Tau (II) Estate in Wong Tai Sin reported 30 positive cases.
In Kwong Fuk Estate in Tai Po, Kwong Wai House detected 59 cases, and Kwong Shung House detected 51 cases. Kwong Chi House saw 55 cases, and Kwong Lai House saw 98 cases.
Citizens who had been to these five buildings for more than two hours between March 12 and 25 must also undergo compulsory testing by Sunday (Mar 27).
Vaccinated people and those who recently tested negative must also take the
Covid tests since a mutant strain is involved.
Any citizen who fails to comply with the testing requirement will be fined HK$10,000 and issued a compulsory testing order. If the citizen further fails to comply with the order, they commit an offense and will be fined HK$25,000 and jailed for six months.
