Outbreak of upper respiratory diseases in Wong Tai Sin school infects 20 pupils
Twenty students from a primary school in Wong Tai Sin were infected in an upper respiratory tract infection outbreak.
The nine boys and 11 girls from Bishop Walsh School, aged 7 to 9, began to develop symptoms starting on March 4. Sixteen have already gotten medical attention, with one being confirmed to have respiratory syncytial virus.
All the students are in stable condition and not required to be hospitalized.
The Centre for Health Protection of the Department of Health is investigating the case and advising the school to arrange cleaning and disinfection. The school has also been placed under medical surveillance.
