One arrested as Customs seize HK$330,000 worth of fake goods
Customs seized about 1,800 counterfeit cosmetics products and electric appliances valued at HK$330,000. A 25-year-old woman was arrested.
Customs earlier received a report that suspected fake cosmetics products, perfume and electric appliances were offered for sale on an online shop of a social media platform.
Officers posed as customers to conduct test-purchases and raided an industrial building unit in Yuen Long on Monday to seize a batch of counterfeit products.
The bottles of the fake perfume bear high-end brand names such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior. Other counterfeit products include Apple AirPods and Dyson hair dryers.
Customs is looking into the source of the suspected counterfeit goods, and samples will be sent to the Government Laboratory for safety testing.
