Citizens can enjoy the games and show their support to athletes at the Zone in the sports centers from 8am to 11pm.

The Department will also hold a launching ceremony of Olympics Live Zone at Kowloon Park Sports Centre tonight, in support of Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which will officially commence tonight.

The launching will go live on Facebook as well, according to the Department.

Due to the pandemic, only less than 100 will be granted admission for the launching.

Apart from sports centers, citizens can watch the opening ceremony of the event in different shopping malls, including Tuen Mun Town Plaza, apm, Tai Po Mega Mall and the Olympian City.

Some kids said they are thrilled as the grand sports event finally commences, and hoped Hong Kong athletes would do well in the games.

Some others said they wish to watch different games and they will probably watch it at home.
