Off-duty cop among four arrested for alleged use of fake T plates on vehicles
Police arrested four people, including an off-duty cop, on Monday, after they were found to be using false trade licences and trade plates, also known as T plates, on their vehicle when driving in Tsing Yi.
The four arrestees include three men and a woman, aged between 29 to 68, were arrested for using false instruments, driving without third-party insurance, and driving an unlicensed vehicle.
The force’s further investigation had led to a 65-year-old head of a trading company, who allegedly talk the four into using the false documents. The 65-year-old was later arrested for aiding and abetting the offenders.
All arrestees were released on police bail and had to report to the police in mid-April. The 45-year-old off-duty cop who was among the arrested has been suspended from duty.
