Northern districts to embrace chilly Friday morning
The mercury will dip to as low as 16 degrees Celsius in northern New Territories on Friday morning, according to the Hong Kong Observatory's latest forecast.
It will be 16 degrees Celsius at Ta Kwu Ling, Sheung Shui, Lau Fau Shan and Shek Kong at 6am Friday, according to regional forecasts.
The observatory said a cold front over southern China is moving southwards gradually, and will move across the coast of Guangdong on Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will fall significantly and there will be showers over the region.
Under the influence of its associated northeast monsoon, the weather will be cooler with a few rain patches in the coming few days.
Citizens are reminded about the drastic drop in temperature from Thursday to Friday.
Temperatures at the observatory's Tsim Sha Tsui headquarters will be between 20 to 28 degrees Celsius on Thursday. It will drop to 18 degrees Celsius on Friday.
