Nine hospitalized as driver crashes minibus due to suspected asthma attack
Nine people, including a 64-year-old minibus driver, were sent to hospital in the early hours of Friday after the driver crashed the vehicle on Tuen Mun Road, suspectedly due to an asthma attack.
The crash occurred around 3 am as the green minibus was traveling from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tin Shui Wai and reached a crossroad on Tuen Mun Road near On Ting Estate.
The runaway minibus hit the crash cushion and shot forward about 20 meters before it finally stopped.
The windscreen of the minibus cracked, and the front was seriously damaged.
The driver, surnamed Tse, and nine passengers, including six men and two women aged 30 to 40, sustained minor injuries and were sent to the hospital.
Sources said the crash occurred because Tse suffered an asthma attack at the time.
Police are still investigating the cause of the incident.
