Urbtix's new ticketing platform, with expanded system capacity and real-time queuing information, is set to debut this Thursday along with a revamped website and brand-new mobile ticketing app.
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) said the new ticketing platform will increase concurrent users' accommodation to around 20,000 from the existing provision of 2,000, and could scale up to a higher volume according to operational requirements.
A new virtual queuing function with the display of queuing position is also added.
The newly upgraded system would also provide more diversions to separate individual popular events with tickets on sale from other events, facilitating a more streamlined ticket purchase process, along with support for more e-payment options.
Customers can also preview the locations of their selected seats through interactive seat plans with multiple layers of zooming capability on the revamped website and the new mobile app.
New self-service ticketing kiosks, which support both ticket purchase and collection, will be placed at URBTIX outlets located at various performance venues and major LCSD museums.
LCSD said starting from noon on Thursday, all tickets for events on sale through URBTIX will be processed via the new system. The new mobile app will be available for download on the same day.
