The government released the sale prices of the new phase of subsidized public housing flats on Tuesday, including three estates in Yau Tong, Fanling, and Ma On Shan, with the cheapest unit in Ma On Shan priced at only HK$753,000.
The Housing Authority announced last year the three sites for the new round of the Green Form Subsidized Home Ownership Scheme, comprised of; Ko Wang Court in Yau Tong, Ching Tao Court in Fanling, and Kam Pak Court in Ma On Shan, with a total of 4,693 units put up for sale and prices at 41 percent of market value.
The cheapest unit released today is Flat 10 on the first floor of Kam Pak Court’s Block C, with a saleable area of 184 square feet at about HK$4,097 per square foot.
This means ownership of the unit could be acquired with only some HK$37,000 with a minimum initial payment rate of five percent of the whole amount.
The most expensive unit is located in Flat 20 on the 43rd floor of Ko Wang Court’s Block A, with a price of about HK$2.71 million. The saleable area is 489 square feet.
A total of 270 units of the three estates are priced at less than HK$1 million; however, their saleable areas are all less than 200 square feet.
Selection of the flats would start next Tuesday (March 28), according to the Housing Authority.
In addition, the Housing Authority said that about 30 percent of the quota for this round of public housing - 1,400 units - will be allocated to eligible people for the "Priority Scheme for Families with Elderly Members." Another 10 percent will be allocated to one-person applicants, totaling 500 units.
