Netflix is expanding its crackdown on password sharing to over 100 countries and territories, including Hong Kong, by sending emails to its customers warning them that their accounts cannot be shared for free outside of their households.
Customers can add a member outside of their homes for an additional fee.
The fee for Netflix in Hong Kong is HK$28 per month, while it is $8 per month in the US.
Netflix last year announced its plans to limit account sharing and is now implementing the new policies globally.
