Mickey, Woody, Snow White… 18,000 runners racing in HK Disneyland
Around 18,000 runners dressed in Disney-themed costumes raced in Hong Kong Disneyland on Sunday for the "10K Weekend" event after a three-year hiatus.
The two-day race began yesterday in honour of the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company.
The race brought together nearly 18,000 runners, with their looks ranging from Mickey Mouse, Spider-Man, Snow White, Woody and so on, running around everywhere from the red brick road on Main Street USA to the iconic archway of the Castle of Magical Dreams, accompanied by Disney characters cheering along the course.
"We wanted to run in Hong Kong since we saw that there would be a race in Hong Kong Disneyland," said a participant from Macau, "It felt amazingly different that everyone was cheering us on and appreciated our Disney costumes."
"We were asked to wear masks before, but now everything is perfect!" said a Hong Kong female runner surnamed Tam.
