Mastermind of pro-independence group pleads guilty to terrorism under NSL
The mastermind of pro-independence Returning Valiant on Saturday pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit terrorism over bomb attack plans that aimed to paralyze government facilities, including court buildings and transportation.
The mastermind was 19-year-old Ho Yu-wang, and the five co-defendants were Kwok Man-hei, 20; Alexander Au, 21; Chan Cheuk-hin, 17; Law Kai-wing, 17; and Su Wing-ching, 20.
All six were charged with conspiracy to commit terrorism under the Hong Kong National Security Law, but only Ho entered a guilty plea. Meanwhile, the other five pleaded guilty to the alternate charge of attempt to cause an explosion with intent to endanger life or property.
Kwok had been sent to a training center last year as she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to incite subversion of state power.
They allegedly planned the bomb attack throughout the city between April 1 and July 5, 2021.
In High Court today, Judge Alex Lee Wan-tang adjourned the case to May 25 for mitigation and sentencing, pending training center reports for the three defendants who were not yet 20.
