Man turns himself in after crashing BMW into three taxis in Kwun Tong
An Indian man has turned himself in after his BMW crashed into three taxis in Kwun Tong on Thursday, including one that belongs to veteran actor Jimmy Wong Wa-wo who starred in suspense thriller, The Sparring Partner.
The crash occurred at around 4am as the white BMW was traveling southward on Tsui Ping Road. The vehicle then lost control and crashed into three taxis parked there. Yet, the driver didn't pull over and fled the scene towards Po Piu Street.
Police found the car abandoned at a car park on the same street, and the 26-year-old Indian driver who holds a Hong Kong ID card later turned himself in.
After investigation, he was arrested by police for dangerous driving, failing to stop and file a report after an incident.
The alcohol test result showed that he drank but still passed the test. The man has been released on bail and must report to police in mid-February.
