Community Health Practitioner Jailed for Offering Bribe to Nurse for Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate

A man was jailed for six months for attempting to buy a Covid-19 vaccination certificate from a nurse with HK$1,000 without actually getting the shot.
He pleaded guilty to offering an advantage to an agent and breaching the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance.

The court reduced the sentence by one-third due to the defendant's guilty plea.

The man was a community health practitioner who was subject to the Vaccine Pass arrangement, and he offered the bribe to a nurse at a community vaccination center.

The nurse reported the matter to Quality HealthCare Medical Services Ltd, and an ICAC investigation revealed that the man's medical exemption certificate had expired.
