Man jailed for 22 years for raping two stepdaughters
A 47-year-old farmer who came from Yunnan was sentenced to 22 years in jail on Monday for raping and sexually assaulting his two underaged stepdaughters.
Earlier in February, the defendant's 42-year-old local wife - the two victims' mother - was handed three years of imprisonment for assisting her husband in his crimes.
The defendant, dubbed "L.C.", appeared in the High Court today under 14 counts of rape and indecent assault charges before Judge Judianna Barnes Wai-ling.
The court learned that L.C. had conducted multiple sexual assaults on his two stepdaughters, who were aged 11 and 13 respectively then, between 2018 to 2019 at their home in Kwai Chung.
The acts included forcing the victims to watch the sexual intercourse between himself and his wife in the name of sex education. He was also accused of kissing and groping their body, including the private parts, and having sex with one of them without using protection.
The court further heard that the younger daughter had self-harmed after being assaulted and was found sustaining cut marks on her arms by a social worker at school in November 2019.
This led to the social worker reporting to the police to arrest L.C. and his wife.
Today in court, the judge slammed the defendant's behaviours as "causing severe trauma" to the victims and sentenced him to be jailed for 22 years.
