A Nepalese man was slashed by a five-people gang with knives in Yuen Long late Sunday night.
According to a video that circulated online, five men - suspected to be of South Asian descent, were seen chasing the victim along the Light Rail tracks near Hong Lok Road Stop, slashing him with knives.
Police said the incident that happened at around 10pm saw the 27-year-old victim, a Napalese, suffering from multiple knife wounds in his arms, back of the hand, fingers, and thigh.
He was found to have collapsed on Yuen Fat Path - 100 meters away from a park at Hi Lee Path where the 27-year-old was hanging out with two friends before the attack.
Officers believed the victim was running back to seek help after being attacked but collapsed on his way.
By the time police officers arrived, the perpetrators had already fled towards the Yuen Long station.
Investigators were currently looking into the victim’s background and hunting the six perpetrators, with three of them said to have slashed the victim with knives.
