Man hospitalized as city sees second bee sting incident in one day
A 33-year-old man was hospitalized after he was stung by a bee in Tai Wai on Friday afternoon, marking the second bee sting incident seen by the city in one day.
The incident occurred at about 2 pm as the worker named Chan was doing maintenance work at a slope site near the Fu Shan Public Mortuary.
Chan fell unconscious after the bee stung him on the left hand.
Chan had already regained consciousness by the time paramedics arrived at the scene, and he was then sent to Prince of Wales Hospital in an ambulance.
This second incident involving bees came as a 64-year-old staffer from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department died after he was stung by a bee.
Secretary for Environment and Ecology Tse Chin-wan, Director for Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Leung Siu-fai, and Secretary for the Civil Service Ingrid Yeung Ho Poi-yan were saddened by the passing of the worker named Ng and extended condolences to Ng’s family.
