A 59-year-old man from the United Kingdom who had received three doses of the BioNTech Covid-19 vaccines tested positive for the L452R variant.
He was also the only imported case reported by Hong Kong authorities on Friday.
The man arrived from the UK via flight BA027 on November 10 and was confirmed positive during the "test-and-hold" arrangement upon arrival at the Hong Kong airport.
He had received two doses of the
BioNTech vaccine in Hong Kong on April 8 and April 29, followed by another dose of the
vaccine in the UK on November 5.
Over the past fortnight, the SAR reported 40
Covid-19 cases and all of them are imported cases.
The city has so far recorded 12,379 confirmed
coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic.
