The incident happened at around 12.19pm, reportedly as the truck was making a left turn into a cement factory nearby, hitting the man during the process and trapped him underneath it.

It took firefighters over an hour to free the man, before he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 1pm. Meanwhile, the truck driver suffered head and neck injuries after he lost his balance and slipped to the ground as he came out of the truck compartment.

The driver was sent to United Christian Hospital in Kwun Tong for treatment.

Officers from the Kowloon East traffic unit and the Labour Department are investigating the cause of the incident.
