A 25-year-old man was charged with bribing a nurse with HK$1,000 to get a Covid-19 vaccination record without getting inoculated.
Cheung Chin-hang, the former community health practitioner of a District Health Centre under the Health Bureau, faced a count of offering an advantage to an agent as he provided money to the nurse for a false
vaccine record last September in Osman Ramju Sadick Memorial Sports Centre.
According to ICAC, the defendant was required to get vaccinated or possess a valid medical exemption certificate to enter his workplace in the District Health Centre, which led to his attempt to get the false record by bribery.
The nurse declined when the defendant provided the offer and reported the matter to Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited, the operator of the Community Vaccination Centre at the sports centre.
The defendant was released on bail pending his appearance at the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts on Wednesday.
