Man arrested after carrying knife into HK court, third case of its kind this month
A man was arrested on Monday morning trying to enter the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts while carrying an 18-centimeter long knife inside his backpack.
Police said they received a report at 11.09am this morning that the X-ray screeners at the court building’s entrance have detected a sharp metal object inside a foreigner’s backpack when he was passing through the security checkpoint.
Officers arrived on the scene and found an 18-centimeter-long blade inside the backpack, also arrested the man on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
The arrest is also the third time this month after two men tried to enter the court building on August 8 while carrying a pocket knife and a brass knuckle respectively. They were both stopped at the security checkpoint.
