Luxury brand Richemont says Hong Kong protests have hurt local sales
Political protests in Hong Kong have knocked sales of luxury goods. Geneva-based Richemont is the latest company to say demonstrations have hurt local sales. Known for its high-end brands including Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, IWC and Montblanc, Richemont said Hong Kong was the only Asia-Pacific city to see a slump. Violent clashes in recent weeks have disrupted business in the city, which is a hub for wealthy mainland Chinese shoppers.
