City University of Hong Kong launches local milk farm to promote sustainability in dairy industry
The City University of Hong Kong has established a farm to sell locally produced milk.
The milk is produced by cows at their farm in Lam Tsuen, Tai Po, and will also be sold at supermarkets.
The farm is intended to promote sustainable development in the dairy industry.
The Dean of the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences emphasized that the well-being of animals is a priority and the farm adheres to international guidelines.
The farm can produce up to 550 liters of milk a day and will decrease production in the winter.
The farm manager also stated that the cows are healthy and will not have difficulty adapting to the current climate in Hong Kong.
