Local developers join hands with the govt over housing problem, says Adam Kwok
Local developers will join hands with the SAR government in solving Hong Kong’s housing problems, said Sun Hung Kai Properties executive director Adam Kwok Kai-fai.
Speaking at a sharing session with Hong Kong youths on Friday, Kwok, also the Vice President for The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong, said the group will render its full support to the government in providing young people proper housing.
He said be it a plan on temporary housing, land sharing, or even land donation for developing youth hostels and home ownership schemes, local developers are all ears and are ready to work with the authorities.
Kwok added that developers are all for increasing the housing supply in the city, providing housing for people from different strata of society.
Daryl Ng Win-wong, Sino Group's deputy chairman, also said in the same event that developers working alongside the government is a fresh approach in solving the city’s housing problems.
The event held on Friday saw over 50 candidates running in the Legco election’s new Election Committee constituency sharing their thoughts with Hong Kong youths over issues of concern to them.
The event was attended by over 200 Hong Kong youths and some 60 members of the Election Committee which is responsible for electing 40 of the 90 seats in the upcoming Legco poll.
