Health experts who suggested Hong Kong adopt the "living with Covid" strategy should be viewed as violating the national security law, said lawmaker Junius Ho Kwan-yiu.
When speaking to the media on Saturday, Ho explained guarding against the importation of cases and the resurgence of domestic infections is a national-level strategy, and anti-pandemic measure equals defense and diplomacy.
The strategy of "living with
Covid" may "breach national defense and disrupt the order of the society," Ho continued.
He also challenged western countries are being irresponsible for adopting such measures and slammed they are "starting a biological war" by allowing the virus to be spread everywhere.
Ho suggested suing governments that adopt the measure for their negligence that would take away people's lives or cause property damage and might even start a war.
Ho criticized governments that adopted "living with
Covid" as trying to brush off their uselessness and cover up for not doing their job well enough.
When asked should Hong Kong inevitably adopt this strategy if the pandemic situation went out of control, Ho pointed out it doesn't count as "living with" as long as he sees the SAR government giving 100 percent effort to kill the virus.
