Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu will pay a duty visit to Beijing this Wednesday, for the first time in his term, to brief state leaders on the latest economic, social and political situation in Hong Kong.
He once went to Beijing in May as the Chief Executive-elect, receiving from the Central People's Government the instrument of appointment as the sixth-term Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.
Lee's predecessor, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, also headed to Beijing for a duty visit last year from December 20 to 23.
