John Lee sees the four-day trip to the GBA as a satisfactory 'starting point'
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu wrapped up his four-day trip to the Greater Bay Area Monday evening and said it is only the "starting point" to strengthen the collaboration with all the GBA cities as the government officials plan for more visits.
In the press conference at the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, Lee stated that he met with the leaders of Shenzhen, Dongguan, Foshan and Guangzhou and was satisfied with the arrangement of the trips and meetings.
He also noted that the visit was a perfect starting point to build upon their understanding and collaboration with the Greater Bay Area cities.
Lee said legislators and officials showed solidarity during the visit and also reflected Hong Kong's proactive attitude in integrating into GBA. He added that Hong Kong needs to catch up with time and take the challenge to innovate in order to make it a leading city worldwide.
Lee stated that government officials and lawmakers plan to visit other GBA cities in the near future to contribute to the high-quality development of the GBA as well as deepen cooperation in different sectors.
