Chief Executive Calls for Calm After Deadly Butchering Incident at Plaza Hollywood
Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu has called on the public to refrain from sharing videos of the butchering incident that occurred at Plaza Hollywood in Diamond Hill on Friday night.
In a statement released on Saturday morning, Lee expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the two young women who were killed in the incident.
He also expressed his sadness over the murder and urged members of the public to seek professional support if they experience any emotional distress.
Lee emphasized that the incident was an individual case and that police have arrested the suspect.
He added that the police will spare no efforts in their investigations and that the Social Welfare Department has established a 24-hour hotline to provide immediate telephone counseling, support, and referral services.
The city leader also noted that citizens in need can call the hotline for assistance or the hotline of the Hong Kong Red Cross at 5164 5040.
Lee urged the public to cooperate with the law enforcement agencies in maintaining the law and order in Hong Kong.
He also thanked the police for their prompt response and investigation into the case.
