Injured boar taken away after slipping into a pit at the Peak
A boar was found fallen into a three-meter-deep pit at a construction site at the Peak on Friday morning. It was later anesthetized and taken away by officers from the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department.
The case was first reported to police at around 9.30am as construction workers found the boar, sustaining an injury to its leg, retreated to a corner in the pit at the site located on 11 Coombe Road and couldn't move.
Police, firefighters, and staffers from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals soon arrived at the scene, as well as officers from the department, who then anesthetized the boar and took it away.
It was understood that the boar was walking along a slope towards the site, as it suspectedly slipped and fell into the pit.
