Summer heat and the pandemic did not stop those staying at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel from having a hotpot party.
People brought their own stoves and food to have hotpot on the terrace of a hotel room, according to a post on Instagram. A photo shows the stove and a variety of ingredients, including vegetables and meat, on two round tables.
The post was shared on a
Facebook group, triggering heated discussion and skepticism.
Some denounced the resident as selfish because of the smell, while others questioned how they handled the food waste.
Others were more sympathetic, saying the dining options at the hotel are limited and that it is troublesome to go to Tung Chung for dinner.
Some also made fun of how much Hong Kong people like hotpot, saying: "there are no boundaries for hotpot."
